Highlights of Pamukkale
Highlights of Pamukkale - Pamukkale Turkey. Pamukkale, Hierapolis information, pictures, attractions.

Pamukkale is one of Turkey’s incomparable natural wonder. Nearby the travertine area in Pamukkale there is an antique pool which has Roman columns and big marble pieces in. A highlight is the opportunity to swim here. Swimming in thermal waters among ancient Roman remains is an unforgettable experience. It is also allowed to walk approximately 0, 5 miles over of travertine without shoes, this is also a highlight experience.

Historical part of Pamukkale is a Hierapolis. The most impressive of all ruins is the Hierapolis theatre. It has some of the best preserved decoration features and friezes of any theatre in Turkey. Theatre has an impressive size. Hierapolis has one of the widest and the best preserved cemeteries (Necropolis) of Anatolia. 4 different types of tombs are also highlights of Pamukkale. The ancient tombs such as tumulus, sarcophagi etc were made of mostly limestone.

If you have all day to spend, the best thing you can do in Pamukkale is watching sunset. It will be a very special moment to watch the sunset over one of the world’s amazing geological wonders. Especially going up there for sunset with a bottle of wine and glasses is blissful. The color of the sky with the white layers looks spectacular. After the sun sets, you'll still have enough light at dusk to make your way down.
